Blocks for quilts for Southern Alberta

Just One Slab

Cheryl Arkison is asking for slab blocks to make quilts for people in Southern Alberta who are in need due to the devastating flooding. You can read her appeal here, please consider making a block or two and sending them to her in Calgary. She also has some links to people who are taking whole quilts listed on her blog.

Cheryl blogs at Dining Room Empire, and is the co-author of the book Sunday Morning Quilts.

Our regular meeting is tomorrow, June 12

Our regular meeting is tomorrow, June 12 – the second Wednesday night of the month. This month we are meeting at

Woodcroft Library
13420-114 Ave.

The room is booked from 6:45-9:00 PM. The library is on 114 Street, directly north of the Westmount Shopping Centre. The Program Room is to your right as you enter the library. There is parking at the side of the library. To cover room rental, there will be a $2 per person charge for this meeting.

The challenge for this past month has been a piece inspired by the theme bugs.
This is the last meeting until September so please feel free to bring snacks.

New members and visitors are welcome.

I am out in the mountains teaching a course this week so will miss you. Please take photos and email them to me and I will get the photos from last month’s meeting up here soon.
