In February we had a chance to see the creativity that was at work with our Ugly Fat Quarter Exchange. It was clear that a lot of thought and effort went into the designs and finished products.

At our last meeting Gwen gave a great presentation on McTavishing.  She helped to clarify some confusion that many of us had after reading the book and watching the video. And we had a chance to practice using pen and paper. So the March Monthly Challenge is to McTavish a fat quarter. We’ll share our work and discuss what we gained from the exercise so don’t forget to bring your work sample to the April meeting.

If you are interested in conducting a demonstration at one of our monthly meetings, please send a quick e-mail to us at: edmontonmodernquiltguild@gmail.com.

Next Meeting – February 8

Ugly Fat Quarter Exchange – Please bring samples of your work so far for Show-and-Tell. We love to see how creativity blossoms to life.

Our January Meeting was well attended with a lot of Show-and-Tell items. Thank-you to all who brought items; I’m always amazed by the beauty and variety of the work we do.

Last month Teresa presented a project proposal for using recycled fabrics. It was decided that some members would participate on a regular basis while others will provide occasional support and encouragement. Additional discussion is required to determine how best to proceed, but for now Teresa will make regular trips to the Reuse Centre and bring back materials for active participants.

If you are interested in conducting a demonstration at one of our monthly meetings, please send a quick e-mail to us at: edmontonmodernquiltguild@gmail.com.
