May’s meeting had great attendance and participation. First we would like to welcome Marie, our newest member. Marie had us all intrigued with her ability to knit and participate at the same time. We can’t wait to see what she was working on.
Last month’s theme was SEEDS in a 12″ X 12″ format. Some amazing and inspirational work was done on this subject and the photos will be posted under Projects and Challenges. I’ve also up-loaded the latest Show-and-Tell items.
This month we are working on another 12″ X 12″ using the theme LIGHT. I thought I knew what I wanted to do with it during the meeting, but have since changed direction. I’m quite taken with this challenge; and since I was away for SEEDS I want of do something for that subject too.
Following May’s Show-and-Tell and Project displays, Darlene got crazy with crayons. She showed us how to paint fabric using the kid’s old wax crayons and an iron. The results are amazing; but then everything Darlene creates is amazing.
Please join us at 7:00 pm for the June 13 meeting at Quilters Dream North – 10736 124 Street, Edmonton. New members and visitors are always welcome. Free parking is available behind the building; and even better – we don’t have fees or dues.
Members, bring along your finished 12″ X 12″ LIGHT work samples and any Show-and-Tell items you may have. You are also welcome to bring goodies to share. We love sampling cooking almost as much as quilting.
Anyone interested in conducting a demonstration at one of our monthly meetings is encouraged to send a quick e-mail to: firstname.lastname@example.org.
