Meeting tomorrow night – special location

Our regular meeting is tomorrow, May 8 – the second Wednesday night of the month. This month we are meeting at 14531 – 121A Avenue, which is where one of our members works. Her employer has been kind enough to let us use the boardroom.

The meeting starts at 7:00 pm and bring along your challenge (the inspiration is bird) and anything you would like to share for show and tell.

If you are making a flag for the Vancouver Modern Quilt Guild’s To Boston With Love project be sure to bring it too, as we will send off any flags on Thursday to get there by the deadline.

Visitors and new members are welcome. And here is a beautiful tiny project made by one of our talented members, as all posts need a picture.

  1. Hi EMQGr’s!

For those interested in pursuing paper piecing, here is the full info on “Silver Linings” patterns talked about last night. The full name of the company is “Silver Linings Originals” for patterns and the lady’s name is Linda Hibbert (sorry about the misspell last nite).

    Here’s a link

As said, I’ve not done any of her patterns yet, but bought a couple (downloadable) with good intentions. My (unbiased lol) thinking is that the finished product can only be drop dead gorgeous if they’re already gorgeous on a computer screen.

See you June 12 @ Woodcroft Library!

PS. If anyone is doing “To Boston With Love” flags in response to the marathon bombings, the newly revised deadline is BEFORE May 21. This is the day they must be in Boston to be included in the display at The Museum of Fine Arts in Boston from May 23 to June 16. According to VMQG (Vancouver), flags will still be accepted after this date however they will be unable to be included in the exhibit. Here’s a link:

  2. With reference to “To Boston With Love”, am reposting part of Leanne’s earlier e-mail:

“If anyone made a flag for the To Boston with Love project, you can either send it directly to Boston or let me know you have one and I will make an arrangement to get it from you tomorrow or Friday. I want to get mine in the mail on Friday as they have pushed the deadline forward.

If you are sending directly, all the mailing information is on the Vancouver Modern Quilt Guild website or I can get you the address if you ask. If you want to arrange with me, either email me back or call me at 780.964.2461” Thanks. Leanne
